Abstract
Čelik ima iznimnu važnost za svako nacionalno gospodarstvo. Jedno od mjerila industrijskog razvoja države je proizvodnja odnosno potrošnja čelika. 1 Proizvodnja i potrošnja betona i materijala na bazi željeza (čelika i željeznih ljevova) dominiraju u odnosu na druge grupe tehničkih materijala. Smatra se da će materijali na bazi željeza količinski i u bliskoj budućnosti zauzimati najveći udio među metalnim materijalima. 2 Čelici pokrivanju gotovo sva područja primjene u kojima se postavljaju zahtjevi čvrstoće i žilavost. Spektar svojstava rasprostire se od mekih i oblikovanih nelegiranim i niskolegiranih jeftinih čelika. Preko visokočvrstih i žilavih pa do tvrdih i na trošenje otpornih čelika. 3 U radu je dan pregled postupaka dobivanja čelika, utjecaj legirnih elemenata na svojstva čelika, obrađene su različite vrste čelika s obzirom na njihove karakteristike i područja primjena, načini spajanja čeličnih konstrukcija, ponašanje različitih vrsta čelika u korozijskim sredinama kao i mogućnost zaštite čeličnih konstrukcija od korozije, te mogućnost recikliranja čelika u cilju smanjenja troškova proizvodnje čelika, smanjenja količine otpada te očuvanja okoliša.
Abstract (english)
Steel is of utmost importance for each national economy. One of the benchmarks of industrial development of the country is production and consumption of steel. 1 Production and consumption of concrete and ferrous materials (steel and cast iron) dominate over other groups of technical materials. It is believed that the iron materials well hold the largest share among metal materials. 2 Steels overlap almost all areas of application in where requirements of strength and toughness are essential. The spectrum of properties stretches from soft and shaped non-alloy steel and low alloy cheap steel, through high-strength and tough to the hard and wear resistant steel. 3 This paper presents an overview of methods for producing steel, the influence of alloying elements on the properties of steel, different types of steel with respect to their characteristics and fields of application, methods of joining of steel structures, the behavior of different types of steel in corrosive environments and the ability to protect steel structures against corrosion and finally recyclability of steel in order to reduce costs of steel production, waste reduction and environmental protection.
