The corrosion behavior of CuAlMn alloy was investigated in 0.9 % NaCl solution at pH 7.4, 5.4 and 3.4 and at electrolyte temperatures of 25, 37 and 50 o C in stagnant solution. The effect of solution mixing on the corrosion behavior of CuAlMn alloys was also investigated. Electrochemical investigations were performed by measuring open circuit current potential, linear and potentiodynamic polarization. After polarization measurements, electrode surfaces were examined by optical microscope, and SEM/EDS analysis. The results of the investigations have shown that the increase of the chloride ions concentration increases the corrosion currents density and reduces the value of the polarization resistance, indicating a more intense corrosion of the CuAlMn alloy. Microscopic surface analysis clearly showed the negative impact of electrolyte motion, temperature elevation, and electrolyte pH decrease in corrosion resistance of CuAlMn alloy, which is manifested in increased surface roughness due to more intense corrosion. SEM Surface analysis clearly show a significant influence of temperature on increasing the intensity of corrosion processes. Thus, at 50 o C on the CuAlMn alloy surface, deep canals and cavities are formed by the intensive dissolution of the alloy. The EDS surface analysis after potentiodynamic polarization measurement in 0.9 % NaCl solution at T = 37 o C and pH = 7.4, interrupted at 0.463 V, determined the presence of all alloy elements on the surface. Further changes the potential in a positive direction lead to the removal of alloying elements Al and Mn from the surface so at the potential of a 1.5 V, Cu was a dominant element on the alloy surface.
