Abstract
Općenito, poli(L-laktid) se smatra biorazgradljivim i kompostabilnim polimerom. Vrijeme biorazgradnje ovisi o uvjetima u tlu: temperaturi, vlaţnosti, pH te prisustvu mikroorganizama. U ovom radu istraţivana je biorazgradnja PLLA u tri razliĉita tipa zemlje za uzgoj biljaka i ekstraktima tih zemalja. Istraţivanje je trajalo 87 dana. PLLA se u zemlji i ekstraktima zemlje nije razgradio, jer nije došlo do gubitka mase. Naprotiv, došlo je preteţito do porasta mase uzorka, pogotovo uzorka koji je stajao u vrtnoj zemlji. Porast mase vjerojatno je rezultat apsorpcije vlage i ĉestica zemlje na uzorcima, koje nije bilo moguće ukloniti. DSC analiza pokazuje da nije došlo do promjene staklišta i tališta PLLA tijekom stajanja uzorka u zemlji odnosno ekstraktima zemlje. Stupanj kristalnosti ukazuje da je PLLA preteţito amorfan te kristalizira tijekom stajanja i zagrijavanja (hladna kristalizacija).
Abstract (english)
Poli(L-lactide) is generally considered as biodegradable and compostable polymer. The time of biodegradation depends on conditions in the soil: temperature, humidity, pH as well as the presence of microorganisms. In this work PLLA biodegradation in three types of soil for plant breeding as well as their extracts has been researched. The research was performed through for 87 days. PLLA didn’t degrade neither in the soil nor in the extracts of soil because the loss of mass didn’t occur. On the contrary, mostly the increase of mass of the sample occurred, especially with the sample which was placed in garden soil. The increase of mass is probably the result of moisture absorption and soil particles on the samples which couldn’t be removed. DSC analysis shows that there was no change in glass transition temperature and melting temperature of PLLA exposed to the soil or the extracts of the soil. The degree of crystallinity shows that PLLA is mostly amorphous and that it crystallizes during storage or on heating (cold crystallization).
